Manufacturers' Championship added
The Reedy Race is excited to announce the creation of a Manufacturers' Championship for the 2016 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions!
The rules are simple: the points from the highest two placing Invitational class drivers from each chassis manufacturer are combined to determine the Manufacturers' Champion. As long as a manufacturer has at least two points-scoring drivers in the Invitational class, they are eligible to compete for this prestigious award.
Had this award been in place the previous two years, both times the Manufacturer's' champion would have differed from the manufacturer of the Invitational class drivers' champion. Needless to say, this award should add an extra dimension to the Invitational class this year and in years to come.
Stay tuned to www.reedyrace.com and the Facebook event page for more information and event updates.

Body Tuck Clarification
To improve the quality of the on-track action and reduce penalties for incidental contact, it is now each racer's individual responsibility to prevent their own body from tucking.
Aftermarket products such as Protoform's Anti-Tuck Body Stiffeners (#1721-00) are widely available. Homemade solutions such as body posts mounted to the shock tower have existed for years. Use of such devices is not mandatory. If you choose not to use them you are doing so at your own risk.
Please be aware that rough driving penalties will still be handed out. The fact that racers are utilizing anti-tuck devices doesn't mean open season on rear bumpers. If the collision warrants a penalty, the appropriate penalty will be given.

Spec Tire Announcement
April 6, 2016 -- The Reedy Race is proud to announce that the Sweep EXP EVO-R 36 (EXP36RPP) has been chosen as the spec tire for the 2016 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions.
Lead test driver Rick Hohwart shared his thoughts about EVO-R 36: "On the recently resurfaced and now fully cured Tamiya America racetrack, the EVO-R 36 is capable of record lap times with consistent performance from run to run and throughout the day. These qualities make the EVO-R 36 the natural choice for the Reedy Race."
Remember, each paid entry includes one set of marked and numbered Sweep EXP EVO-R 36 tires. Drivers will be allowed to purchase an additional three sets of marked and numbered tires for use as they please for qualifying and triple main events. There is no limit to the number of tires a driver may purchase for practice, but tires used during controlled practice seeding rounds must be marked tires purchased at the event. Tires for non-scored controlled practice rounds or pre-race testing can be purchased at the event or at www.sweepracingusa.com.
Stay tuned to www.reedyrace.com and the Facebook event page for more information and event updates.

2016 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions Announcement
February 19, 2016 -- What started out many years ago as Mike Reedy's vision to showcase the world's best drivers in a format unlike any other ever used in RC racing, has grown to be one of the most anticipated and prestigious RC races in the world.
Reedy, Tamiya America, and Scotty Ernst Productions are proud to announce that the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will return to the newly resurfaced Tamiya America circuit May 26-29, 2016.
Entries open February 24th at noon PST exclusively on www.reedyrace.com. Due to time constraints and to maintain the world-class nature of the event, total entries are capped at 170 for the Open classes (120 combined 13.5 and 17.5, 50 Modified) with each driver limited to one entry.
To allow everyone an opportunity to be a part of the 2016 Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions, a lottery drawing for the Open classes will be conducted on March 21st, with those chosen securing a place in the event. Entry fees are not collected until after the lottery drawing for the selected Open class entries. One set of control tires and a souvenir is included with each confirmed and paid entry.
Drivers who finished in the A Main in the Open classes at the 2015 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will be given an automatic entry in the class of their choice. However, these drivers must sign up and pay their entry within the specified time frame.
Factory-sponsored drivers (those whose travel arrangements are paid for by their sponsor and/or are paid a salary to race), or those that have finished in the A Main in the Modified class the previous year, are not eligible to compete in the 13.5 class. Drivers who are sponsored or receive discounts from chassis manufacturers, or who have finished in the A or B Main in the 13.5 or Modified class the previous year, are not eligible to compete in the 17.5 class.

Sunday, March 20 (11:55 PM EDT) Open entries close
