Tire & Foam Rules

  • Control Tires

    •One complete set of marked tires and foams is included with each entry. Additional tires and foams must be purchased at the event from OCRC Raceway. Tire and foam quantity are not controlled.

    •Front tires must be used on the front, rear tires must be used on the rear and on their intended vehicle.

    •Foam must be used in the intended tire.

    •Tires must be marked and purchased with the "OC" logo for all races that are used for seeding, qualifying, heat races, and main events. All tires included with entry and purchased during the event will be marked.

    •Any racer attempting to compete without marked tires and/or control foam will be disqualified from that round/main.

    •Cleaning the tire mounting bead is allowed and Windex or Simple Green is recommended.

    •The only tire additive allowed is the one supplied by the organizer and may only be applied in the designated area with the supplied brushes. No application, "scrubbing in" or drying of the tires may be done outside of the designated area. Doing so will result in disqualification of those tires.

    •Tire cleaning may only be done in the designated wash station. No personal tire washing stations.

    •Modifying and/or grinding and/or cutting any control tire is not allowed. This includes cutting a mounted tire for purposes of changing the foam.

    •Only natural tire wear from the racing surface is allowed.

    •Venting the tire is allowed with a maximum of two 3mm holes per tire.

    •Any racer attempting to compete with modified tires will be held in technical inspection pending disqualification from that round as determined by the event referee(s).

    •A Note From the Organizer - The tires selected for this event were done so by multiple teams and drivers to ensure fair and consistent performance throughout the event on different vehicles. The control tires work well right out of the package and modifying the tires is not required to have a vehicle that performs well.

    •Please respect the event and your fellow competitors by adhering to all tire rules.

    •Front: Pro-Line MC Electron (#8240-17) & Pro-Line Closed Cell Inserts (#6185-02).

    •Rear: Pro-Line MC Electron (#8238-17) & Pro-Line 12 Rib Closed Cell Inserts (#5400-14).

  • 2WD Buggy Control Tires

    •Front: JConcepts Gold Dirt Webs (#3077-05) & Pro-Line Closed Cell Inserts (#6185-03).

    •Rear: JConcepts Gold Dirt Webs (#3076-05) & Pro-Line 12 Rib Closed Cell Inserts (#5400-14).
